My background
In my work as a coach, facilitator, and consultant I have adopted and gained expertise in a variety of approaches and focuses, which include Creative Problem-Solving (and Synectics), Agile Methodology for effective teamwork, Cross-Cultural Communication, Effective Public Speaking and Clearing.
What they all have in common is a focus on effective communication.
I have over 20 years’ experience in helping executives and their teams manage organizational change and innovation through coaching and facilitation. I have a degree in Psychology, an MBA and am a qualified coach, but I developed my coaching skills in the field, helping senior team leaders, managers and executives analyse and formulate strategies for complex organizational problems, usually involving big personal and organisational risks and demanding stakeholders.
I spent 10 years as a senior consultant designing and delivering an innovation programme for a high-tech multinational in the aerospace sector.
This involved the creation of a new internal organization, the training and embedding of innovation facilitators and agents, and supporting these in delivering innovation projects.
In practice, these “innovation projects” involved working with senior decision-makers together with their teams and stakeholders to resolve organizational challenges – specifically, to prevent high-stakes project failures – by providing them with opportunities and mechanisms to facilitate communication, share knowledge and problem-solve together.
The “problem owners”, (i.e. the decision-makers), were usually able to provide us with estimates of how much the company stood to lose if no action was taken and if these projects could not be turned around, amounts varying between hundreds of thousands and tens of millions of euros.
